I agree, when are these guys going to wake up to the fact that the price of gold is going to be higher not lower in the future. Not only are these guys maintaining their hedging position but they are actively increasing it. Total hedges totalled 1.475 Moz in June 2023 it now sits at 1.923 Moz. We are currently losing around $1000/oz on todays hedges, how much are we going to be losing in 2, 3 or 4 years time??
