Could Nimy’s Gallium Be Primary?

Possible, but not yet proven.

Nimy’s gallium discovery is one of the largest potential sources in Australia, but it falls short of the grades needed for traditional primary mining. However, it has two key advantages that could make it viable:

1. Massive exploration target (up to 14.3 Mt), meaning even lower grades could be economical if recoverable.

2. US defense sector interest, which could lead to funding and offtake agreements, reducing financial risk.

If further drilling increases grades and metallurgical tests prove efficient recovery, Nimy could become the first modern primary gallium mine. Until then, it remains an advanced exploration project with strong strategic potential.
