T3X - I don't doubt that if the AUD gold price stays strong, SLR/RED shareholders will do well into the future.

To respond to your questions, the timing of my exiting the stock is because I'd passed the 12 month holding period and am therefore eligible for CGT "relief" and the reason for exiting the stock is because I'm using the funds to invest elsewhere where I hope future returns will exceed those I forecast for RED/SLR.

Around this time last year, I took a view that the situation at RED couldn't get any worse and I literally bought with my ears pinned back and massively over-exposed myself to this particular stock (which, as a simple investment rule, is something I rarely do and was not happy doing this time either).

Personally, I think the Aust stock-market is in for a few really, really good years up to sometime from mid 2027 onwards, so I'll keep muddling along with Aust equities for a bit longer but with a more diversified portfolio of resource stocks than recently.
