much chatter this morning as Gold pops over 1200usd, suddenly more writedowns of Lihir coming, sell Newcrest, that's why it hasn't gone anywhere like the others.....

This was covered and discussed long ago, but apparently its one of the reasons it hasn't fired like all of its peers.
A write-down fine,
2.2 BLn fine,
but under the rules, Cadia, the lowest production mega producing mine, well they could write that up more as it is seriously undervalued on it books if they want to use the same "ideas" for writing down Lihir.
Not only is Cadia some sort of freaky gold mine in terms of costs. they have expansion plans in the pipeline as the mines unusual block method of mining is just extracting mega magins.
Ok Lihir Written down to keep the Analysts happy, Cadia mine lifted by more to reflect is world ranking as the lowest costs mature mine out there.....seems fair to me........
