At this time NO. BCI getting salt from seawater is getting harder and further away. Pond 0. Has anyone been told why it’s needed?
Some people are interested in why a pastoral harvesting business and a secondary processing (SoP) industry should have mining royalty applied to “the crop and the bread”?
In 1987 and 2015 Rio Tinto (Australia’s largest salt producer) argued that mining royalty should not be applied to salt because of its seawater harvesting method of production. The WA government rejected Rio’s argument out of hand.
So what chance does BCI and KLL have before they produce a gram of salt and SOP respectively?
