During construction phase, I am sure they have considered weatherforecasts, and there will be swings & roundabouts with any estimation. I don’t see any big deals with some (or lots) of rain impacting construction work, it is all part of any outdoor construction project.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the entire design is that all water entering theponds will either be pumped from seawater, or rainfall. The outside walls of the ponds may see tidal flows but, short of a tsunami, no water will enter or leave these ponds. If this is correct then the only uncontrolled addition to the pond water levels will be rainfall, if it rains 50mm then the pond water level will increase in height by 50mm (Average annual is 276mm).

The estimated annual production is based on weatherforecasts, rainfall estimations, sunny days, wind strength etc. In winter there will be a reduced output compared to summer but that’s why they call the seasons. La Niña or El Niño will have impacts on this for good or for bad but that’s also part of natural patterns.
