Of course it's better that way, but the reality is that they need cash.
Don't forget that the market is only back to it's long term average pe based on current earnings. Future earnings are gonna be a lot lower.
Likely has another big drop coming.
They will not cut it any finer than they already have and would be mad to do so in these uncertain times.
And you have to admit; this announcement just reeks of CR.
