It looks like enough shareholders saw through the "benefits" to this proposed merger, which to me seemed primarily to increase the market cap of AOF to reduce the chances of a takeover (i.e., not to increase AOF shareholder value).
Australian Unity seems to be on the backfoot to defend the rights to the funds it manages since the AUHPT takeover battle.
