I imagine that they may be busting their gut just to get the testing done at this time.

It seems likely they would need to link the MEMS up to an ASIC or simulated ASIC to play music. It is clearly possible to get music out of it somehow, as you say, but it may not be that easy in the test bed while they are doing their best trying to test all the devices on a series of wafers as fast as they can so the rest of the batch can be completed. They are not just trying to satisfy their curiosity, they are past that I expect.

I just think we need to play along with what they have been able to do right at this moment and wait for them to do it all in their own time.
It's taken 9 years waiting so far; another couple of weeks or a month is not so long to wait.
