My understanding is that the partial structures use more power, and will have a market but it will not be the same market as the full structure. I would not expect they will be used in smartphones etc. There are patent applications in preparation for the way these work.

The autonomous boards will presumably allow customers to have an evaluative look at how the chips perform. I.e. presumably they can be configured with different numbers of chips active so the effects of array size can be explored. I would expect that AP would have anticipated and built in access to demonstrate as many of the potential applications as possible that use AP's unique capabilities, such as directional sound, gesture recognition, language translation, etc. Presumably all they will need is a power source (battery?) and a digital audio signal in port. The device interface will presumably allow the user to explore all the settings and capabilities through software. So yes, customers can probably look at them on their own. But I recall Danny Lewin saying that their first public demo will aim to knock the socks off all the audio top brass specialists in attendance so that the company makes its technological and market significance clear.

From what we have been told the packager is in Germany. Getting all the separate parts to the packager is required, but probably getting personnel there too is also important. COVID travel restrictions are significant there.
