I hope the "Bob" you refer to in your post is not me. While I am on record as saying that I am not personally offended at the COVID delta variant being called that, because it was for a while in common usage as having an actual and unpejorative meaning, I am also on record as taking umbrage when one poster's racist approval of that usage were then attributed to Fred Bart, and then proceeded to congratulate him for sharing similarly racist views (post subsequently moderated). It is inappropriate to attribute such views to a director of a public company in a public forum. Personally I do not use that terminology so as not to provide any encouragement to the racist overtones it carries. I also refuse to tacitly applaud or encourage such low-brow and most decidedly "un-woke" attitudes by not calling them out. If that earns me the epithet of being "woke" so be it. Integrity has a cost.
