Gunns appear only to have got the original $23m offered, but by giving the $11.5m to govt owned FT, the Tassie govt removes the burden of a further $25m claim (plus the considerable legal fees if the matter had gone to court) from Gunns shoulders - so one could actually argue it's worth up to $48m to Gunns but has only cost the Tassie govt $23m. One issue resolved, two to go.
