"Shares in Boart Longyear have gained over 6 per cent after the drilling services and products company upgraded its annual earnings and revenues forecasts on a recovering mining sector.
Boart said today its operating trends had continued to improve in the first three months of the year, with its drill rig utilisation and product backlog on the rise.
The company said it now expects earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) are expected to rise by 76 per cent on 2009 to $US195 million. It had forecast EBITDA of $US170 million in February.
Boart shares were up 2 cents, or 6.1 per cent, at 35 cents in midday trade.
