What nonsense.

When met with weakness, you go in for the kill.

NWH doesn't want a drawn out battle. They will cop an average deal - maybe even a pretty rubbish one - for the sake of closing this out. Samsung is as savvy as any other commercial negotiator, and they will take advantage of that.

Personally I'd like to see NWH do a huge raising. They could use the money raised to:
1. pay down a little debt, to keep the bankers happy;
2. build up a fighting fund to litigate against Samsung if necessary (and ensuring Samsung knew that would be beautifully self-promoting because it might encourage Samsung to come to the party on a reasonable deal);
3. pay out a solid part of their retained earnings, thus distributing some of NWH's massive franking credit bank.
