A very positive visit outcome from the responsible minister.
Long term mining of phosphate assured with additional leases granted. The only drawback seems to be wharf and loading facilities which need upgrading to handle increased volume.
There also seems to an opportunity for CII to increase profitable contracting activities regarding government activities on Christmas Island.
The Phosphate mined on Christmas Island is high quality. Demand in Asia is increasing faster than other regions price will continue to increase. Processing facilities and own distribution in Malaysia and a joint venture in India are positive.
