I think there's way more going on then they are willing to disclose. The future is induction charging (wireless). Having a charger that can deliver up to 11kw DC power in the home is BIG, it makes it possible for car manufactures to install bigger batteries for much greater mileage and faster charge times opposed having on onboard chargers that are highly inefficient. I think the race is on for most manufactures to try and develop their own induction charging technology. I wouldn't be surprised if they are working exclusively with BMW to test/develop such technology for use in BMW's e530 vehicles and then expand to other e vehicles as they begin to perfect the technology. This is just my opinion. Maybe wishful thinking. DYOR and GLTAH!
