Regardless of the fact they had mentioned a prospect (not a 'promise' as some people appear to think) of dividends, would it not be prudent for an investor to also read the later announcements, including the prospectus, that state the above current dividend policy that applies?
Many companies prospect dividends in their future. What you appear to be suggesting is that the ASX penalise anyone with aspirations of profit that would lead to dividends? Or are you saying they should have just penalized only CGB for having these aspirations?
