Bots. I've said it before, but I'll say it again - it's out of control.
I've had the experience of being on the receiving end of these trades, where my serious order is reciprocated by a trade for a single share. I'm then up for brokerage that amounts to multiples more than the value of the trade. Just another example of the unlevel playing field we are on. The institutional traders are doing this, and the ASX is beholden to the institutions, so nothing is likely to change any time soon.
