The point you raise is common with most med devices. It's not just willingness, the facilities are already established for conventional x-rays and the equipment already paid for or under contract. Furthermore, staff may need training (and time to do the training) to use new things. Public hospital purchases are normally through tender too, which micro-x has to bid for through procurement processes. So, the nano won't suddenly overtake the x-ray market in the public system. Very few medical devices do.
That said, there is still a lot of potential in private clinics, nursing homes, veterinary clinics, private hospitals, royal flying doctor services, dental clinics, and so on. Some sports clubs may even use them.
I also found a new MBS item approved last year for mobile skeletal x-rays. I missed this news. This would be another big uptake incentive for use by doctors in aged care homes homes. http://www.mbsonline.gov.au/internet/mbsonline/publishing.nsf/Content/Factsheet-MobileXray
