I kind of agree, I honestly think that once things ramp up, and the technology improves, they'll use Photon Assay or equivalent for all their assays, because it's so quick and (I assume) doesn't require the complex preparation steps. As you say, even if it detects only gold, they can base the JORC on gold only, and they can still extract all the other precious metals using their proprietary technique.
Edit/caveat: I'm no expert on this, I defer to the experts for details on how this might work.
