It is worth remembering that ARB customers are not just people who buy 4x4s for recreational use. ARB also has a market for tradies, mining, business, construction, farmers and more. So while one area might down, another may go up.
Sales of 4WDs in Australia is going strong. This article on car sales for June makes for good reading:
"For only the second time in Australian automotive history, utes filled the top three sales spots outright in a given month, with record Ford Ranger sales leading the market ahead of the Toyota HiLux and Isuzu D-Max in June 2021.,,,,,
June 2021 was the eighth month in a row in positive territory after 31 months of decline in the lead-up to and during the peak of the global pandemic."
From what I read in other articles, you can't get a Hilux or LandCruiser any time soon - maybe a 6 month waiting list for many models - so demand is not being met. Fleet sales are only increasing and obviously the recreational market is not slowing down anytime soon. ARB are making hay and they just can't produce enough product.
I just can't see a reason to sell this one until something changes. Management continue to deliver on what they say and the results of the past year are not just a one-off. They have given me no reason to doubt their ability to continue to grow the company. They continue to spend big on R&D, make strategic acquisitions and make deals with multi-national car manufacturers, all while being the leading manufacturer of 4x4 barwork and associated products.
