So is the buying and selling of shares.
The sharemarket is only speculation : is it going up up or down tomorrow ?

If you worry about day-to-day ticks in share prices, then yes that is indeed speculating, and tantamount to trying to somehow be on the right side of market randomness (which is demonstrably an exercise in futility).

But of you pursue the time-honored path to wealth creation by buying shares in businesses, at discounts to their intrinsic value, then the mere randomness of day-to-day share price moves is of zero significance.

Not sure what that means.
Are you suggesting that stocks such as CSL or MQG should be valued using a different methodology to other companies?

So what if someone is shorting the stock and points to the negatives which have caused him/her to short-sell?

As an investor, do you not want your investment decisions to be fully informed, including taking into account some of the potential risks and negative factors which could cause the share price to fall?
