I'm reading David and Goliath by Malcom Gladwell at the moment. It got to a part where in the 1960's a Dr was working with young children (1-2 years of age) in the Leukemia ward in America, I think it was also attached to the National Cancer Research centre... Let's say it went into some very, very graphic detail of what these children would go through, and how the Dr's and nurses would treat them. It was pretty difficult to read but made me think about how bisantrene will hopefully drastically change the lives of all these people involved. I've been very fortunate enough to not have a direct family member (apart from cousins) affected by cancer. So reading through this book ran deep with empathy of how these kids, parents, and medical staff must all feel.

I wish Mary best of luck in her role and hope she's able to kick her objectives out of the field.
