I think you are mixing up massive nickel sulphides vs Ore tonnage and contained Ni.
Historical data suggests the Old Carr Boyd Mine produced from the first shovel to mine floor 202,110t of ore at an average grade of 1.43% Ni and 0.46% Cu between 1973-1977
