Curious that no one gave you an answer. There are many references in HC to people selling their shares at a higher price ir holding when an issue is assigned to them so that they can participate in the issue at a lower price.Of course, their holding will be diluted, although their average cost per share may go down, depending on how many shares they buy back..
Some people frown on this and consider that the company should be supported in raising the funds it needs (true believers for sure). However, in this free for all casino called the ASX, why would anyone sacrifice their gain for the sake of another?
