Sometimes reading depends on your perspective. Manganese is a key battery component, this is new demand, and they are projecting many multiples of growth in the next 10-20 years. So looking at history and why people didn't drill is not really relevant given the new landscape.

Not to say it isn't a worthwhile question on why they don't want to drill now, or why they are happy to dispose of the project, maybe it's because they don't have the funds or have other priorities and happy with the free carry. Maybe a vote of confidence that the company is not concerned with funding?

Does sound like an interesting prospect, given it shouldn't be difficult to drill. Unlikely it moves the needle now, but makes sense.
