One of the concerns of the market when Matsa was purchased that it had a relatively short mine life. We have just seen the mine life extended by a number of years and opens the option of tweaking the processing plant to take more ore than the current capacity of 4.7mt. Copper grade has declined but more than offset by the increased Zinc, Lead and Silver grades.
More drilling to occur in 2023 and the geology is excellent.
At another time this announcement would be viewed positively, but not in the current environment.
September quarter report will be interesting when SFR reveal more about the reserves and life of mine planning.
