SFR has previously included resource changes in Quarterly announcements, so this is a modest change of policy. No biggie.
Close watchers will have seen my ravings on the underutilisation of the Sotiel mine.
Sotiel is more Zn than Cu, yet remains a key expansion opportunity at Matsa, once the business has more capital flexibility. Given recent Cu price rises, debt will be being paid down with vigour. More studies are needed before SFR can commit to a Sotiel concentrator and production ramp-up.
The Quarterly due 25 July may have more information on Black Butte too.
