Not sure if you are articulating what I feel, namely that it doesn't matter that they don't promote the company's prospects. Or that you feel they should invest the effort in raising the profile.

Frankly, it suits me just fine if the only time I hear anything from a company in which I'm a shareholder is three times a year: when they announce their interim and final results and at the AGM.

(Heck, that few people know much about Mayfield is the reason I was able to become a shareholder at a price that is a discount to intrinsic value)

I think if one feels the need for more frequent updates about how a business is performing then that's probably not the kind of company one should care to own.

I see much inverse correlation between business quality and companies whose shareholders who are always anxious for management to provide out-of-reporting-cycle updates. Most of the best quality companies listed one hardly ever hears from.
