That article pretty much summarises what a wonderful opportunity we had (have) ahead of us. I know that feeling powerless in these situations is a deflating feeling but I am making sure that I do whatever I can to ensure that this is not stolen from me without a fight.
It may come to nothing but I'll be sticking around for the vote and I'll be voting NO,NO,NO and I hope that all the retail shareholders and perhaps some of the bigger institutions, will do the same with their stock holding, the shareholding that I control through various family interests is larger than all the directors and management combined, still only a drop in the ocean but every little bit helps to defeat this Scheme which should have been disclosed to shareholders and not presented as a done deal.
Additionally, I have contacted the company to have them explain how this deal is in shareholder's best interests.
I have also contacted various ministers and senators to ensure that a proper foreign investment review takes place and whether the grant given to Mayne in 2022 to upgrade the Salisbury facilities came with any strings attached and whether the sale of this facility which dates back to 1834 (Fauldings) is in Australia's best interest.
I have also contacted 2 news outlets to make sure that this deal does not escape public scrutiny.
I'm a realist and I know that the probability of any of this amounting to something is low but I hope you all agree that the most important thing we can all do is Vote NO to the Scheme.
