It is astounding that no one on this forum has questioned whether the claims from the HE1 posters, that helium-saturated ground waters are unviable, are even correct.
Just because HE1 was "disappointed not to have identified free gas" within its Tai wells in 2021 or 2023, does not necessarily mean the technology to extract the He gas from helium-saturated groundwater is not available. One only needs to investigate the entire Coal Seam gas industry to see how this is very much possible.
"Coal seam gas is held in place by water pressure. To extract it, wells are drilled through the coal seams and the water pressure is reduced by extracting some of the water. This releases natural gas from the coal. The gas and water are separated and the gas is piped to compression plants for transportation via gas transmission pipelines." SOURCE - Australian Government - Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water
In the case of Noble Helium and the North Rukwa Basin, helium-saturated water could be depressurized in the subsurface (underground) and the Helium subsequently brought to the surface in much the same way. Important to also remember that NHE helium concentrations appear to be multiples of that reported by HE1.
And guess what - NHE just so happens to have a guy (NHE Executive Chairman Shaun Scott), who was CEO of Arrow Energy that led the growth of that business from a $20m COAL SEAM GAS explorer until its $3.5 billion acquisition by Shell and Petro China. Funny that no one bothered to highlight these points today as the baby was being thrown out with the bathwater.
