I agree, its not a great look to miss the first date but I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement gets dropped during the day either.
There definitely would be a sell off if the deal had fallen apart.
Personally, I would want an announcement that has more than just the first transaction details.
I'd be hoping for information on the EGM and the approval requirements in there as well and that could take some time to write up.
