It annoys me (on so many topics) how slanted the media is. Not a single comment from the multitude of locals who support this mine. The media (abc - defund it already) use a handful of nay sayers and the implication that the area is a 'peaceful rural landscape' and not a mention of how many mines are in the area. Be akin to a couple of residents of newman opposed to a new iron ore mine cause it will disrupt the 'rugged natural beauty' of the area. Or in moranbah opposing a new coal mine.

Struth, even the huge pumped hydro project inland from Mackay has a small number of locals opposed and its a 'green' esg friendly endeavor.

There were residents in sydney opposed to tunnels at the time and no doubt (i have no source) some would have opposed the syd harbour bridge at the time of construction.

You will never reach 100% consensus on anything, and using a small minority to amplify or control a narrative against the majority isnt 'balanced and fair reporting'.

We arent talking landowners getting kicked off their land here and most have jumped at opportunity at offering from regis to acquire the property. Wish a mine opened near me so i could sell out.
