Lithocaps are significant surface features that serve as indicators for the presence of deep porphyry copper and gold deposits, as well as high-sulfidation epithermal systems. They are areas of pyrite-rich rocks with extensive silicic, advanced argillic, and argillic alterations that form between a paleosurface and a shallow-crustal intrusion. Their prominence on the surface makes them valuable for guiding exploration efforts.
