Not sure what impact this has upon their pending patent. 90% recovery is outside the pending patents currently stated 'scope' of 16-19% recovery. This type of detail is a minefield since anybody can legitimately copy your process so long as they operate it outside your patent scope.
As to purity, the real issue is impurities (other than iron), since the chloride process has very strict limits on acceptable impurity levels. Otherwise high TiO2 feed that does not fall within these impurity limits is diverted to the Sulphate pigment process.
