It’s all part of the process in exploration, cutting, logging and storing of cores is an essential part. What you want to do over the course of several programs of drilling is adequately validate models and to better understand ore textures across a deposit as deposits can have several ore hosting textures. Also the need to keep cores to do other tests and metallurgy tests later on. Also cores might need to be re assayed for other minerals of economic importance later on that weren’t tested for initially.
