    I read these announcements with some worry but then it subsides quite quickly.

    They are not afraid to optimise their top ranks if things need a shake-up.

    Steve Watt didn't last long. Chris Ridd, 2 years.

    The US is now MDR's golden goose.

    Both individuals had established careers locally.

    With this appointment, they are betting on Linda to steer growth in the US (lives on the west coast) and also perhaps increase the opportunities from NZ (office in Wellington).

    Not a bad mix getting someone who straddles both hemispheres, with a board position on AirNZ and who's managed listings on the NASDAQ.
