Releasing it during the day means those who are monitoring their screens have an advantage (they can react as soon as it's released) over those who (say) work and can only react afterwards.

Releasing before trade allows everyone to assess, make their own decisions as to what the share is worth and put in their orders (or not) accordingly.

I'm a happy (long term) holder delighted by the result so no impact to me. I think most companies release their results before trade but I'm sure they had their reasons.

Results season feels a bit like exams this half year. 2/2 excellent results for me today, I expect the next few are going to get a bit tougher :(
