Not much ferrosilicon will be produced by ferroglobe in France as there has been a major explosion at the Laudun plant.
Explosion at Ferroglobe’s Laudun silicon smelter
There was an explosion at Ferroglobe’s (Ferropem) silicon smelter at Laudun. The plant also produces specialty ferrosilicon product. Production was halted due to the explosion.
- Three furnaces (16, 25 and 35 MW) equipped with Söderberg electrodes for the Ferrosilicon and compounds for the Silicon, and independent treatment filters.
