I note that Ferroglobe is planning to restart its Silicon metal operation in Polokwane South Africa. This is due to high prices and lack of supply so even with high South African power prices the smelter should be profitable. This really shows that OM Sarawak will do well with producing Silicon metal as their power price is considerably cheap than power in South Africa.

The Polokwane plant will enable the Company to add capacity that is lower cost and strategically located, optimizing its asset footprint, and providing flexibility in addressing the volatile energy markets in Europe.
