On the corporate front, all mines in South Africa must have 26% BEE ownership by 2014.
Gold One has agreed a value with its BEE partner Micawber of 2.0 billion rand (US$274
million) as the value of Modder East. A 26% interest is valued at 520 million rand or
US$71.2 million. Micawber has a choice of obtaining third party funding, or Gold One will
provide vendor financing. It seems the company has this issue firmly in hand.
