Many people are tying to interpret that statement as if the “and” doesn’t exist. The extension exists because of discussions with ASIC and because of the volatility. It is kit due solely to the volatility.

ASIC and ASX have issued a 17.3 to enquire about “a number of issues concerning ISX.” The volatility has influenced the timing of the suspension. The volatility is not the only issue being investigated. In fact, given the grammar rules of the English language and the fact that the object of the first sentence is consultation between ASIC and ASX, it appears to me that the volatility was only the trigger for the timing of the suspension and not the object of the investigation at all.
