one thing that worries me is a scrip offer for US-listed shares where they would be at risk of a Great Taking scenario - bank and brokers bailing in their clients’ assets to save themselves. If you think that is a conspiracy theory watch Chris Martenson’s YouTube videos about it, he goes into the legal weeds and it checks out 100%
But I too also would prefer to not get a huge tax bill
