Also, while you are reading, it is worth reading some of the academic literature coming out of Malaysia regarding pollution in the country. Lynas doesn't even register as a blip compared to the far, far greater issues of air pollution, pesticide/fertiliser over use, landfill constraints and solid waste contaminants in a maritime dependent food chain.
Thus one must give serious thought to the level of effort being directed at the LAMP being incommensurate to the impact it actually has and in turn consider other motivations for the constant attempts to shut it down and what political influences might be leading it and from where.
Malaysia needs to show transparency, fairness and a willingness to adhere to the standards accepted the world over.
