Optus is owned by Singapore interests - so the government is not related to the company in any way - not much the government can do about the company other than to legislate for huge fines for future data breaches.
You aae right about Medibank - and it was a mistake by the previous government to privatise it in the first place.
Heads should roll in those two companies - responsibility of dodgy decisions should end with the BOD.
