Annual Shareholders' Meeting and Director Nominations

Mighty River Power Limited will hold its Annual Shareholders' Meeting in
Auckland at the Ellerslie Event Centre on Thursday 7 November 2013. The time
and other details relating to the meeting will be advised in the Notice of
Meeting to be sent to all shareholders.

For the purposes of NZX Listing Rule 3.3.5 and ASX Listing Rule 14.3, the
period for nomination of directors will open on 4 September 2013 and will
remain open until 5.00 pm on 17 September 2013. Nominations may be made only
by a shareholder entitled to attend and vote at the Annual Shareholders'
Meeting.
