When things are going well, differences in approach and personality among members of a team don't emerge clearly. When the going gets tough, the differences come to the fore. It is essential that Board renewal is undertaken very carefully. While bringing individual strengths, each new member must demonstrate the capacity and willingness to work with the others as a team, supportive while still exercising independent thinking. Attitude, integrity, insightfulness, judgment, resilience, these are paramount; for me they count far more than particular skills of the kind we saw listed in those self-assessments.

In addition, new board members must be convinced about the value of Anteo's technology. If a prospective Board member is not so convinced, then Anteo is not the right place.
