Just found this where it’s stated that retention is expected to scale in line with read and write speeds. I always thought that maxing out latency and endurance would degrade retention, so if it’s true this isn’t the case, and actually the opposite is, and coupled with K’s find regarding Ting working out how to increase retention by several years, then it could be we have universal memory.

At the time this was written, we had read and write speeds of around 50ns, endurance of 100,000 cycles, and shortly after, retention stated as adequate for storage class memory.
If it was thought by you know who that this would be worth in excess of $4b with these now massively exceeded metrics……
