I recall one of the valued poster's who attended the AGMs that Howard Digby said an attempt at on market takeover would need abnormally high volume and would likely push the price into or beyond fair value territory.

I'm not sure if that is still he's take in light of the recent announcememt, but I think the proposition still has merit. The weaker hands can be shaken out at a couple bags, the stronger LTHers will need much more than that and the diamond hands will need a truckload to pry their shares from them.

I'm no diamond hand but I've held 4+ years and not sold a share. If a major really wants my shares, they can have my shares but it'll take a good bit of convincing.

Hope this makes sense and eases your concerns, I'm sure this question has crossed a few minds since yesterday.
