I’m not sure the ‘notification of a potential commercial deal’ will change anything for WD. I find it hard to imagine how they could compete financially with the bigger fish in a buyout given their current balance sheet and MC.

It is hard to imagine a scenario where WD won’t purchase the 20 year license. I wonder how 4DS determine a (discounted) price for the license. Has this figure must already have been loosely ‘agreed upon’ ?????? because otherwise we could ask anything we like …..and it might be too much for WD. It would make a farce of the agreement for a license at discounted rate. Likewise, how would we have loosely agreed on a license price without knowing results of the development process unless they formulated a range of prices dependent upon a range of final metrics ?

Either way …….I’m buying more !
